Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Business Administration is a faculty where the medium of instruction is 100% English. The faculty consists of five departments: Business Administration, Economics, Tourism Management, Political Science and International Relations, and International Trade and Business. Dual degree programmes are offered between Dokuz Eylül University and the University at Albany (SUNY), particularly in the fields of Business Administration, Economics, and International Relations.
The Faculty of Business Administration monitors and evaluates its quality assurance system every six months and annually through the Dean’s Office and the Rector’s Office. This process is managed through performance programmes and activity reports and aims to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching activities and the faculty’s progress towards its strategic goals. These reports determine whether the objectives have been achieved, how the achieved objectives were attained, and what obstacles and reasons prevented the unachieved objectives.
For example, during the global pandemic, the faculty successfully achieved most of its strategic goals. During this process, the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle (PDCA) was closely monitored and improvement efforts were initiated.
The faculty’s priorities in the field of education can be summarised as personalised education, the use of the most contemporary methods in education, and internationalisation. Maintaining small class sizes and the policies implemented play a critical role in achieving the goal of personalising education.
The Faculty of Business Administration pursues various strategies within the scope of “Quality Improvement Efforts”. These efforts are supported by the development and continuous updating of accredited programmes in education and teaching. The Faculty aims to enhance students’ professional competencies by organising extracurricular courses and certified career development programmes for students.
Furthermore, work in the field of science and research is strengthened by increasing scientific publications, encouraging postgraduate theses, and supporting research projects. Knowledge transfer and innovation are also encouraged through university-industry collaborations and entrepreneurship services; institutional knowledge is increased through consultancy services.
To enhance institutional capacity, steps are also being taken to optimise administrative, core, and support processes, strengthen technical infrastructure, and ensure transparency in financial management. Furthermore, social interaction and participation are fostered through scientific, cultural, artistic, and sporting events; and continuous development is supported through lifelong learning and education programmes.
Alongside these efforts, the continuous review and improvement of services tailored to the needs of students and graduates form an important part of the faculty’s endeavours to raise its quality standards.
Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Business Administration has developed various strategies to increase its international recognition and strengthen international collaborations. The faculty supports international collaborations through 70 bilateral agreements under the Erasmus Programme, 1 agreement under the Mevlana Programme, and 16 academic collaboration agreements worldwide. Thanks to these agreements, students, as well as academic and administrative staff, benefit from exchange programmes and gain international experience. In addition, faculty members regularly visit partner institutions abroad to teach courses and expand their international academic networks.
The faculty participates in international accreditation processes such as AACSB to support its internationalisation goals and continues its efforts to meet the requirements of these processes. AACSB accreditation supports the faculty’s continuous improvement efforts by evaluating its educational quality according to international standards. It is also accredited by the ACCA and CFA Institutes.
