FoB Journey of Engagement and Societal Impact
We aim to educate students
to become more inclusive and responsible
business leaders and entrepreneurs.
| Established in 1992, from its inception the Faculty of Business (FoB) has aimed to be an institution committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering excellence in academic scholarship. It has embraced a student-centred approach, prioritized internationalization and upheld tolerance and unity as its core institutional values. The FoB’s mission* and subsequent strategic plans** emphasize supporting sustainable development goals, responding to contemporary societal needs and enhancing the effectiveness of social sustainability activities and community-centred services.
Following our application for the AACSB in 2018, the Faculty has shifted from performing disparate activities to implementing a strategic, measurement-based framework. This evolution was driven by the identification of a critical gap: the lack of a defined aspiration statement, focus areas and a systematic procedure to evaluate societal impact. The Faculty of Business began by considering its vision, mission, and core values, which encompass activities promoting sustainable development goals and creating value for stakeholders, including students, alumni, and NGOs through collaboration. Feedback was gathered from all stakeholders using a wide variety of data collection tools, ranging from search conferences to surveys and focus group meetings. Following the call conference, subsequent consultation meetings, and a comprehensive review of national and regional data, together with an assessment of the Faculty of Business (FoB)’s institutional capacity and strategic positioning, SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) have been formally designated as the Faculty’s priority focus areas. |
